Following an emergency trial on false news charges that lasted just three sessions, activist Alaa Abd El Fattah was sentenced on Monday to 5 years in prison, while lawyer Mohamed al-Baqer and blogger Mohamed “Oxygen” Ibrahim were sentenced to 4 years each. Their lawyers say they never received access to the case files and were not given an opportunity to mount a defense.
